MANILA, Philippines – Carlos Yulo, Nesthy Petecio, and Aira Villegas received their new homes in Tagaytay City which they got as reward for winning medals in the Paris Olympics, Sunday, March 23.

Philippine Olympic Committee (POC) president Abraham “Bambol” Tolentino turned over the properties, which are located at Prime Peak Subdivision in Barangay Silang Crossing West, to the medalists.

“I’m very grateful and I feel blessed to receive this house and lot and I’m thankful [with the way] the POC helped us in our Olympic preparations in Paris,” Yulo told reporters.

Yulo earned a two-story home that sits on a 500-square meter lot — a property worth P15 million according to POC secretary general Atty. Wharton Chan — for becoming the Philippines’ first double Olympic gold medalist.

The 25-year-old gymnast ruled the men’s floor exercise and vault to lead the country to its best Olympic campaign in history.

Meanwhile, boxers Petecio and Villegas were given 200-square meter, two-story homes as they each won a bronze.

It is the second Tagaytay property for Petecio, who acquired a house and lot as her reward for bagging a silver in the Tokyo Games in 2021.

“They deserve these homes, they’re not only our Olympic heroes, all of them are national treasures,” said Tolentino, who also serves as Tagaytay mayor.

Petecio plans to reside in her new home together with her family.

“I will be living here in this house with my brother and family and we’ll rent out our first house here,” said Petecio. – Rappler.com
