MANILA, Philippines – Catholics in the Philippines, Asia’s biggest Catholic-majority country, are joining community prayers for the recovery of Pope Francis, who remains confined in Rome’s Gemelli Hospital due to double pneumonia.
At the San Roque Cathedral, Kalookan Bishop Pablo Virgilio Cardinal David is leading a Mass at 6 pm (Manila time) on Thursday, February 20, for the healing of the Pope.
David, president of the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of the Philippines, is the 10th and newest cardinal in this Southeast Asian country.
