MANILA, Philippines – Ahead of their campaign kickoff in Metro Manila on Tuesday, February 18, senatorial candidates of the administration’s Alyansa para sa Bagong Pilipinas held a news briefing where they addressed questions on calls to end political dynasties, China’s incursions in the West Philippine Sea, and food prices, and other pressing issues.
The candidates were all in agreement that they will not engage in mudslinging during the campaign and will focus on their respective campaign platforms, even as President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. himself had indirectly slammed the senatorial candidates of his predecessor, Rodrigo Duterte.
