Two weeks after he testified in the Senate, ex-president Rodrigo Duterte appeared before the so-called Quad Comm in the House of Representatives to testify again about his role in the war on drugs.
His second appearance was the same as the first: nasty, brutish, and long. What was it he was trying to do? Why did he agree, in the first place, to testify in Congress?
In this episode of In The Public Square, Rappler columnist and editorial consultant John Nery is joined by two people who closely followed ex-President Duterte’s appearance in both the Senate and in the House of Representatives: human rights lawyer and data privacy advocate Dana Batnag and Rappler Mindanao bureau chief Herbie Gomez.
